OBJECTIVE

Beerenberg is a great Australian story – a sixth generation family owned and run company. They make the most wonderful range of jams, condiments and sauces, all on their farm in South Australia. Although 100% Australian made and owned, they were often mistaken for an imported product due to their ‘European’ look and feel. Beerenberg came to Tiny Hunter looking to rebrand, with goals for national and international growth. Six years later, we’re still working together.

SOLUTION

The first step was to define a clear strategic positioning. Who is Beerenberg? What makes Beerenberg different? What does Beerenberg stand for? Why should people care? The strategy developed, and the resulting brand promise to bring Australians ‘a taste of the country life’, still guides business decisions today. With this clear positioning in mind, we embarked on a complete rebrand. We said goodbye to the old fashioned, German style and hello to a fresh, modern brand that put the heritage and the people behind the company first.

RESULTS

Beerenberg’s initial rebrand resulted in a 30% uplift in sales nationally, leading to increased distribution and fantastic engagement by customers both old and new. That was six years ago, and since then we’ve continued to work in close partnership with Beerenberg in a strategic and creative capacity across a whole facet of brand building and marketing activities. This has included live events such as the The Honesty Box, branding for new product ranges such as dessert sauces and alcoholic jams, web and digital campaigns, and ongoing packaging evolution to ensure relevance in the fast moving world of FMCG. Beerenberg continue to go from strength to strength both in Australia and overseas, having recently expanded production facilities to double their output.
