Brand refresh? Here are the 5 telltale signs it’s time

One thing we see a lot, even with successful and established businesses — is stagnancy when it comes to branding. Which means missed opportunity for growth. Here are 5 signs your brand might benefit from a review.

TRANSCRIPT – BRANDING BEFORE BREAKFAST EP 79

Hi everyone. I’m Jodie. I’m the MD of Tiny Hunter. Today I want to talk about five telltale signs that you might need a refresh. Sometimes it’s hard to know when things are a little too stagnant and maybe need a freshen up.

So the first one is the easiest one and that’s about revenue or market share. So basically, your sales. You know, maybe they’ve just plateaued. Maybe they’re in decline, so you know that something is going on that you would like to do something about. That’s probably the easiest and most obvious one.

The second one is, you don’t really know your audience. So you want to get really granular about who is that really desired customer for you? How do they feel? What do they want? How can you really connect and engage with them? So if you don’t have that in-depth understanding it’s worth going through some branding work. Or maybe it’s that your customer has changed a bit, so you need to evolve with them.

The third one is that you don’t stand out. So maybe you’re doing a great job, but there is no compelling reason for someone to pick you over your competitor. And that’s really important to sort out.

The fourth one is about your team. So, branding isn’t just about brand and marketing, it’s really holistic through your whole business. You need a team that’s really engaged. You know, they’re living to the same values. They’re advocates for your brand. Making sure that your team is really aligned is going to make for happy customers, which we all want.

And the last one is maybe your brand is not doing justice to your product or service. We see this all the time. People that pour their heart and soul into what they do deliver incredible value to their customers. But the potential customers don’t know it because the brand isn’t communicating that. Very important. Is your brand doing your business justice? That’s it from me. It’s time for brekkie.
