It seems the world is crazy busy creating content. It’s a necessity for businesses and it’s getting harder and harder to have cut through. The thing is, nobody wants bland. To be successful your content needs to be entertaining, it needs a little sugar. And no, it doesn’t matter what industry you are in!
Hey everyone! Today I want to talk to you about adding a little bit of sugar into your content. So what I mean by sugar is making it more engaging. Making it more interesting to read.
So in my down time, I’m on social media. I’m online looking at magazines. I’m reading newspaper articles. And if I ever come across a bit of content or an article that’s boring, I just don’t read it. So have a think about your content. Is it bland? Because at the end the day, bland is just bland. And how do you know? Have you actually asked any of your customers how they feel about your content? Do they read your articles? Or they’re just flicking past them? There’s a really great brand out there called Who Gives A Crap. Now, they create probably the most boring or the most bland product in the universe, which is toilet paper. But they do 100% recycled toilet paper and 50% of the profit goes back into third world countries to get help them get better sanitisation. What I really love about this brand is their copywriting and their content and their storytelling. It’s so interesting. It’s really funny and they have so many puns about poo. It’s just really entertaining. So as an awesome brand person have a think about your content. You know, really get forensic on it and be honest. Is it entertaining? Or is it bland? And if it’s bland, put a bit of sugar into it. Make it fun. Make it inspiring. Make it entertaining. And then watch your audience smile from ear to ear as they read your sugared up content. That’s it for me. Time for brekkie.
