Sometimes creating white space isn’t about inventing something completely new, it can be having a new take on a staple product that hasn’t changed in decades.
Hi everyone. Today I want to talk to you about creating the white space. And what I mean by the white space is creating something unique for your product or service. Now, you might be thinking this lady is a crazy lady. It’s really hard to come up with something unique. And you’re right. It feels like every idea out there is already thought of. So what I’m suggesting is that you actually create a hack on something that already exists.
So let’s take the Post-it notes for example. One of the greatest innovations of the 20th century, but if you think about it, it’s really just a writing pad. Like a mini tiny little writing pad with some sticky on it. It’s a hack. And then recently I met the ladies behind The Beach People. So they created their own version of the beach towel. A hack again. And what they did was they created a round beach towel called The Roundy. Now this absolutely catapulted them into success. Why? Because when you create something unique, it creates great talkability, and it means that you don’t need to spend nearly as much on sales and marketing. That’s it for me. Time for brekkie
