Good ol’ customer service. What happened to it?

TRANSCRIPT – BRANDING BEFORE BREAKFAST EP61

Hi everyone. Have you ever had a customer service experience that was absolutely rubbish? In fact, you walked away thinking wow, does this business even get that customers are the foundation of everything? Well, I had such an experience on the weekend. I was in a retail store. I was ready to buy. But for the life of me I couldn’t get anyone to help me. In fact, I felt like the staff were more interested in dusting shelves than helping me. The thing is, 89% of customers will go back to a brand and they’ll buy again if they have an excellent customer service experience. There’s an opportunity for brands who really do focus on that experience. I feel like customer service is almost like a lost art. You know, that expression ‘old-fashioned customer service’ comes from somewhere, right? You know, we live in this digital age.

Everyone’s hiding behind computers now. If you do dedicate time, resources and money to creating an incredible experience for your customers, make them feel loved, make them feel nurtured and cared for, then you will see your business grow. That’s it for me. Time for brekkie.
