Sharing changes everything: Get brand collaborations happening

Do you ever feel a little overwhelmed about constantly trying to create great content and campaigns that keep your audience engaged? A great way to overcome this is by adopting a spirit of collaboration in your business. Collaborations mean sharing the work and cost load, an introduction to new audiences and an infusion of creativity into your business.

TRANSCRIPT – BRANDING BEFORE BREAKFAST EP47

Hi everyone. Sharing changes everything. Today I want to talk to you about the power of brand collaboration. By brand collaboration, I mean when you work with another brand who’s got shared values and they don’t have to be in the same category. You work together to create an interesting campaign or content. Now there’s many wins for collaborating with other brands. The first is that you’re sharing the workload. You know, it can cost a lot of money and a lot of time to create content or campaigns and you’re sharing the workload this way, which is an absolute win. Another reason is that you’re getting exposed to a whole new audience. So when the content or campaign is created then obviously you’re going to share it in your channels, but your partner will also share it in theirs and that means a whole new audience that could become customers. That’s really cool. But the thing that I love most is that when you work with other brands and other people, you get to infuse a whole lot of creativity into your business. And when you infuse creativity, you can come up with some amazing ideas. And the reason you want to do that is because you’ve got to always be thinking about surprising and delighting your audience and engaging them in new ways and connecting through the heart, connecting on an emotional level. And also it’s fun. It’s fun to create cool stuff in your business. A great brand collaboration that I’ve always loved is San Pellegrino. The Italian sparkling water brand collaborated with Missoni the Italian fashion house, and I’ve got shared Italian values of style and quality. When they came together, Missoni designed a label for the sparkling water bottle and it was beautiful and it was such a win-win for both brands because for San Pellegrino there was creativity infused into the look of the brand, which was something new for the customers. But for Missoni, what was really exciting was that they got to have their brand sitting on restaurant tables, high quality restaurant tables all around the globe. So really it was a win-win for both. So I’m going to encourage everyone to get out there, find some other brands to collaborate with and have some fun and do something really cool. That’s it from me. Time for brekkie.
