The importance of customer conversations

When was the last time you talked to your customers about you? In this episode we discuss why talking directly to your customers is a game-changer for your brand.

Branding Before Breakfast Ep 197 The importance of customer conversations

Good morning. My name is Kiri, I’m the Business Growth Strategist here at Tiny Hunter. And today I want to talk to you about something that’s absolutely critical for your business, which is the importance of talking to your customers. I know that you do talk to your customers daily, I hope. But generally that’s always about them and their business. By talking to your customers today, I mean talking to them about yourself, about your brand, about what you do, about why they choose you and what you could be doing that’s better.

Recently, I had the opportunity to talk to a group of customers for a client of ours. They are a wholesaler, so they have two different sets of customers retailers and their end user and it was actually really eye opening. Through these conversations, we uncovered things like what they love about their job and the challenges they face daily. But really what they love about working with our client and why they will come back time and time again and choose them. We even got an understanding of what they admire about their competitors. Now I know you might be thinking, this sounds great, but you know I don’t really have the time and the resources to do something like this, it really doesn’t need to be this big overwhelming, expensive task. It’s as simple as picking up the phone or sending out a survey. Where possible, it is great to engage a third party to do this. I think customers are likely to give more open and honest feedback to a third party than they might be to you, if you’re doing them yourselves. But if that’s not an option, pick up the phone, ask people, do you have 20 minutes to talk to me about our brand? Your customers are the lifeblood of your business. And aside from gathering this really critical information, it’s also showing them, I value your input, and I want to do better. How can I better serve your needs?

That’s it from me, it’s time for brekkie.
