Never has it been more important to build a strong, distinctive and consistent brand. While you are likely well versed when it comes to the importance of the look, and language, of your brand another tool in your brand building toolkit is your motion branding. Here we explore exactly what that is and why it matters.
Hi everyone. I’m Jodie, I’m the MD at Tiny Hunter, and today I’m thinking about your brand in motion. As part of a branding project, you want to explore and define how your brand should move in digital spaces.
I’m sure you’re familiar with brand guidelines in terms of how your brand looks, your colours, your logos, your fonts, what are the rules for design of your brand? And you’re probably familiar also with tone of voice. What is the language of your brand? How does it speak and sound? The thing is with branding, it’s about being very intentional and very consistent. You need to expand that toolkit to include your brand in motion. There are many ways to animate just one single object, so for your brand, based on your strategy and your identity, how would that object animate? How would it move? How fast would it move? Is it speeding up? Is it slowing down? There’s an entire language that can be defined as a set of rules for motion that can be defined in your brand guidelines, so that when you are going to someone and asking them to create something for you, they have a framework to make sure that it is consistent in terms of bringing your brand to life.
If you haven’t thought about it yet, it’s time to start thinking about your brand in motion.
That’s it from me, it’s time for brekkie.
