Gaining traction: Stay on track and hit those big goals

Ever feel frustrated in your business? Not quite gaining the traction that you need? Having a defined brand and business strategy is important, but unless you actually execute on that strategy it is pretty much pointless. And execution needs to be across the entire organisation. So, let’s talk traction.

BRANDING BEFORE BREAKFAST EP 48 Gaining traction: Stay on track and hit those big goals

Do you have a feel a little frustrated in your business? So you’ve got a great brand and business strategy, but you’re not quite getting the traction that you need. So as we all know strategy without the execution is basically pointless. So we felt a bit like this a few years ago, and we read an amazing book called Traction by Gino Wickman and it is about a system called EOS, for running your business. EOS stands for Entrepreneurial Operating System. EOS is much handier. So basically this is a system that’s got six key components and I’m not going to go into the detail today. But what it does is make sure that your strategy is being executed really holistically across the business. So make sure you stay really laser-focused on your big goals, but also break them down into actionable steps. Make sure that everyone in your business is heading in the same direction, which sounds obvious but you really do need to make sure that is happening. It doesn’t just happen naturally. Make sure that you’ve got the right data that you needso each week you reviewing really key metrics so that you know that everything is on track and it sets a really good rhythm for your business. So you leadership meetings, department meetings, your annual planning, quarterly planning. It’s a really good rhythm for making sure you do really stay on track. As well as that, it makes sure you got the right people and that they’re all really living and breathing those values which is so important. So we’ve found it really instrumental in our business. So if you’re feeling a bit frustrated, think maybe you need to try something new, grab a copy of Traction and have a read. And I love talking about Traction, so if you ever want to reach out and hear a bit more about our experience, please do.That’s it from me. It’s time for brekkie.
