We believe brand should regularly guide or inform conversations within a business. Unfortunately it’s not always the case. When was the last time you discussed and made a decision through the lens of brand? Can you remember?

Hi everyone. I’m Jodie, I’m the MD of Tiny Hunter, and today I’m wondering when was the last time inside your business that you had a conversation through the lens of brand? And I do not mean that you are actually literally talking about your branding, as in your brand identity or your marketing. What I mean is, your brand strategy really should sit at the center of your business, and it should be part of the fabric of many conversations that you should be having.
For example, maybe you’re talking about hiring a new person, you’re going through the interview process. You are examining whether they are values aligned, or perhaps you’re having conversations around introducing a new product or service, and you’re considering what will the impact of this be? Does this align with who we are, our ethos, what we stand for, and how we serve our customers or not? Is this a good idea or not? Or maybe it’s in terms of the supplier, maybe you’re looking to work with a new supplier, or you’re having issues with a current one, and then the conversation becomes, is this person truly or this business values aligned? Do they share the same ethos? Do we care about the same things? Because often if you’re having any issues in terms of relationships, it can be because there is a difference in values alignment. My point being that if you are not having regular conversations that have you considering from the perspective of your brand, from your positioning, from who you are, then there is opportunity there for you to really further embed brand at the heart of your business, which will have a tremendous impact. That’s my thought starter for today.
