Argyle Pink Diamonds - Tender Catalogue 2014
Each year Argyle Pink Diamonds put to tender their extraordinary collection of pink diamonds and as part of this process they create the Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender Catalogue; a highly sought after set of books housed in a beautifully designed slipcase, showcasing the year's tender collection.
Every year the tender event creative is based around a new theme. The 2014 tender theme was the Gouldian Finch - an extremely rare, colourful bird found in the Kimberley; the birthplace of the Argyle Pink Diamonds.
The concept design for the Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender Catalogue 2014 features coloured feathers, representing the flight of the Gouldian Finch, in the celebratory colours of the birds.
The slip case introduced the theme with a cloth cover, printed in full colour. The feathers were contrasted with a charcoal grey background, so the colourful bird was represented but softened by the sophisticated grey. The cover of Volume 1 featured a large artistic crop of the botanical illustration of a Gouldian Finch, whilst Volume 2, the tender, returned to the theme of the vibrant feathers, reminding us of the celebratory nature of the collection. The logo featured one bold pink coloured feather, referencing the diamonds but also a soaring bird.
The final books and slipcase were hand created. Every finish from material to print technique was carefully considered. The finished product, we can proudly say, is a work of art and Argyle Pink Diamonds recorded their highest ever bids for the tender this year.
